Hike the trails above Muir Woods. Breathe the fog that drifts through redwoods older than any church on this continent. The swallows still return to San Juan Capistrano every spring, faithfully, instinctively, as if they know something we’ve forgotten: California was always meant to be mission territory.
Drive Highway 1 through the sage-covered hills of Cambria. Walk the pier at Pismo Beach where retirees and surfers share the same sunset. Stand in the Saturday morning farmers market in Sacramento where 100 languages flow between the stalls and nobody talks about God.
This is not a reference to history. It is a declaration about the present. We are pastors and churches who believe that the missionary call of Romans 15:20 still echoes across this state. And the mission field isn’t overseas. It’s the neighborhood you drive through on the way to church every Sunday.

Matthew Perry leads Love Church, a brand-new San Diego plant built to help people experience the love of God through Jesus. God is already moving. In just three weeks of gatherings, 20 people gave their lives to Jesus, more than 100 joined, and dozens of new families connected.
